Can you get a Doctors referral for Dental Care to claim on Medicare?

I am in my late 20's and had 2 children 18mths apart, which plays havic on your teeth, and I've ground my teeth in my sleep all my life. In the last 2 years I've had a couple of teeth pulled and 4mths ago one fell out! I need major dental work and i'm not covered by private medical, I have had several people tell me to see a doctor, and they could give a certificate/referral to a dentist and they could cover it with Medicare. Is this true and are there any special circumstances?
