Do any of you have other afflications that you have to deal with in addition to you

diabetes? I have diabetes type II, but I also have several other disorders that I have to deal with on a daily basis. Including a seizure disorder, anxiety disorder, emphasema, severe vertigo, and insomnia. With each of these disorders and my diabetes I have to take about 35 pills a day to get through to the next.

i went in a month ago complaining of the flu and found out i was type 2 diabetic. i have gone every week now to the doctor. i have had blood work done so many times i can count the little dots on my arms. the doctor said i have an elevated white blood cell count and says there more then the diabeties but doesnt know what. i have been a lab rat of antibiotics week after week. first i got the you have a uti and now they say you have an infection but we dont know what it is. ive been sick now for 2 months.

i cant relate to the 35 pills a day and all your conditions. but diabeties seems to bring along new and exciting problems doesnt it lol.. im trying to laugh it off and make myself better. all we can do is take it day by day and hope for the best.

ahhh....yes....I'm 19 years old. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the end of 2003. I was diagnosed with lupus in the summer of 2006. I'm on 2 meds for lupus, but hopefully I'll be down to 1 med by june. I was on prednisone for my lupus at one time which caused high blood pressure, so I was on a 2 meds for that, but I'm not anymore. At the rate I'm going with getting different diseases/disorders I expect to have around 8 by the time I'm 30! lol (I'm kidding)

I have depression, pseudotumor cerebri (benign intracranial hypertension), kidney transplant 19 years ago (not related to diabetes-I've only been diabetic a few months), kidney cancer a few years ago, skin cancer, cervical cancer, anxiety, asthma, gastric ulcers, chronic UTI's, PCOS and avascular necrosis of my hips. It makes me sound old and decrepit-but actually I'm only 40-am in good shape and very active, and I work full-time. Life is what you make it.

My son had leukemia when he was a baby. He had a bone marrow transplant. He has chronic sinus problems(has had 2 surgeries for that) lung problems and stomach problems. Last year he was diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic. It made his stomach problems worse. He had surgery to take out his tonsils in Oct. and had so many complications he missed 7 weeks of school. He's a tough cookie though.

Depending on which came first, the chicken or the egg, we all have more than one disorder to deal with.

Diabetes causes lots of other conditions, so we must not be surprised when we are taking half the pharmacy daily for control.

Yes, it has caused me high blood pressure, high potassium levels, rapidly worsened my asthmatic condition to COPD, and caused some other problems like plantar neuroma!
