The only way you will get diabetes is if you get a disease that kills your pancreas or if you have the diabetic genes.

Type 2 is most usually inherited, meaning someone in your family has it already diagnosed. If this is true, cut out 3/4 of the breads, cookies, potatoes, pastas, and cereals from your food plans.

All our food plans in the USA are designed to make us fat fat fat from eating too much breads and starchy veggies and cereals. This is the cause of people getting overweight. Then if they have the bad genes, they get diabetes.

Since you are a skinny guy, and I assume you don't spend all your time in front of the computer or the TV, you get enough exercise!

You shouldn't be worrying about diabetes!! Worry instead about whether to play sports or be in the band or something else practical.

I am worried... my eating, diabetes????

I am a 13 1/2 year old boy. I am 5-10, and skinny. Even though I am skinny, could I still get diabetes because I eat A LOT.

Breakfast

2 bowls of cereal
A piece of toast w/ butter.

Lunch

A regular lunch meal from school

Snack (4.00)

Bowl of cereal
Nuts (slated)
Ganola Bar (a chewy chocolate chip bar)

Dinner

A regular dinner that my parents provide for me.

Is all this food too much, and could I get diabetes?

Thanks
Everything turns to sugar anyway
My dad has a sugar allergy, my grandfather and uncle have diabetes (my moms side)
