13 yr.old cat recently diagnosed with diabetes?

hi everyone,
i was wondering if anyone who has a diabetic experienced a similiar situation as mine. my sadie has been at the vets for 4 days now she was on iv fluids for 2 days. she improved beautifully. complete turnaround for the best. doc took her off iv and gave her fluids sub-q. she also has hypokalemia. doc called this am saying sadie relapsed a little as her electolytes are completely off and her blood sugar level is not registering on the meter. we decided to put her back on iv hoping that is what is needed. if anyone has any advice or suggestions i would greatly appreciate it.

Both of my tuxedos (brother and sister) developed diabetes at age 6 (had them since 8 weeks). They were both put down. Check out this website for information. Good Luck.
