DIABETES? DARK PERIOD? 13!? HELP!! [ladies]?

Okay. well. I just got my first period a month ago. but this time when it came i was wearing no pad and a black thong so i couldn't tell if i had my period or not. so i wiped and saw it and it looked like a had sh*t myself. it was like a dark brown colour! then i was like oh well. so i changed and put on a pad and went to the movies. when i came back i went to go pee and looked at my pad and it was a tiny but of blood but it was nearly BLACK!!!? i was like wtf! so i told my mom and she said it's probably just old blood. but then a few minutes later she came and asked me again and she said that she started getting that when she found out that she had diabetes when she was in her late 20's. but my mom said it's probably nothing. but now i'm worried because my great grandma had diabetes, my grandma and my mom so what if i... ? UHOH. but anyways. I REALLY NEED HELP! i've read other questions and it seems to be normal but still.....

Hi, hope u don feel so stress. Maybe you try to monitor for few more days or following two more months' period, if still the same condition pls see doctor quickly. It's abnormal situation if still keeping in dark brown blood after few days or over two more periods... Hope u recovery soon. Thanks.

well, for right now, don't worry. stressing makes everything worse.
the blood might be black because it might have been old blood that didn't come out from last time. it happens to a lot of people. hasn't happened to me, but has happened to others.

sometimes, at the end of girls' periods, the blood is brown, so the blood must be really old.

if you're really concerned you have diabetes, then you should get a glucose test done. unfortunately, you do have a chance of getting diabetes, like everyone. if your mom said she had black blood when she got diabetes, then...i strongly suggest you go to the doctor.
