Why are kidney recipients at higher risk for diabetes, cancer and bone disease?

its not he kidney they recieve per sey its the immuno suppressive drugs they have to take for the rest of thier lives to prevent rejection.
most of them are cortical steriods
they jack up your blood sugar
they suppress the tumor lysing action of your white blood cells
they also tend to cause some hypocalcemia (low calcium) and then your body leaches the calcium it needs from bones
