| I got a "One touch ultra" FREE from my GP's surgery made by Lifescan. Of course by giving the meters away free Lifescan ensure a regular sale of test strips and lancets which are free to us on prescription but paid for by nhs. Lifescan suppllies free batteries and control solution and record books,and are on the ball for recall or any problems. | I believe only one glucometer is accepted by the health authority. At least the last time I heard from my friend there was only one acceptable! Others were taken off the market? and strips were not available either. Here in USA we must use whatever glucometer is supported by our insurance company or we have to pay for the test strips ourselves. That can be very $$$!!! |
