| Chromosome for Gestational Diabetes? I need to do a Biology protect in which we chose a genetic disorder and I chose diabetes. for part of it we need to find where the chromosome located. i have found the chromosome for Type one and Type two but i cant seem to find one for gestational diabetes. can anyone help? thanks      |

| I always thought gestational diabetes was brought on by pregnancy complications. I didn't realize it was related to chromosomal abnormalities. Thank you for teaching me something today. Click on the link. http://diabetes.niddk.nih.gov/dm/pubs/gestational/index.htm#2 In the article, it states if one has gestational diabetes, it is likely type 2 will delvelop later in life. I would go further, & reason gestational diabetes is caused by the same chromosomal abnormality as type 2 diabetes. Best of luck |
