| Absolutely. Though you should know that there are still needles involved with the pump (the site has to be changed every 3 days with a pretty big needle) and the pump is not a way to pretend you don't have diabetes. It is imperative that a pump user keep testing blood sugars, as the chances of going into DKA increase because the pump only uses fast acting insulin. So if the pump or site are bad (yes, it does happen. I won't say often, but we notice a bad site every 2 months or so) the body isn't getting any insulin at all and can go high fast. What I am saying is that the person won't have to deal with lots of shots every day (which is why my son loves his pump), but will still have to test regularly and monitor their health - it isn't a cure. Good luck |

| My pharmacist, a type 2 diabetic on insulin pump, has recommended I see his Endo so I can get one also!! Where we live there are no endos, so we have to travel around 250 miles one way to see one! But yes, type 2 people can have insulin pumps when they are on multiple daily injections (MDI). |
