My mom has diabetes. It runs in the family, my grandmother (my mother's mother) dies at the age of 50 because of diabetes. My mom has a sugar level of 7 and she told me last night she cut herself with a knife. She keeps on telling me that it is okay but I am still concerned. Will the wound still heal?
It will heal, it just may take a little longer than someone without diabetes. Make sure she takes special care to keep it clean. If it gets infected, then you have a little more cause for concern.
A normal blood sugar level is between 4-6 so your mom's really isn't out of control.
