Okay people are getting confused ....

I'm not talking about type two diabetes I'm talking about type one...

Its a disease to do with your pancreas...the body can't produce insulin so you must supply it...

The pancreas cannot be replaced because it is too close to the other organs so transplanting will result in death

You are wrong.....the pancreas can be replaced. I know people that have had it done and know several others that are on the waiting list for a new pancreas. Some of the people get a pancreas and kidney at the same time because their own kidneys are close to failure. They are not on drugs to keep them from rejecting the new organs,(in the beginning for a few days they were) but science has come a long way. It is the only cure there is for both types of diabetes. It is however a very severe cure, there is a chance you won't find a compatible pancreas, it is expensive, and painful. There is no cure for type 2 either, even though some type 2's can manage their disease thru diet and exercise, this is not a cure, they still have the disease and it is extremely hard to control it this way. Usually later in life they have to go back on meds because their bodies have changed again. As for any other kind of cure in the near future that everyone could have, I don't see it happening. They make too much money from this disease......sad but true
And you are wrong again. About type 2. It is every bit as serious as type 2. It is the pancreas that causes type 2 also. In type 2, you either make too much insulin and your body is not using it properly, or the pancreas is not making enough insulin. Only 51% of those with type 2 were actually over weight before they were diagnosed. Diabetes can cause weight gain or weight loss. Just because you have hear someone is type 2 does not mean they are or were ever overweight or had bad diets. It does not mean you are going to get type 2 if you are overweight. I think if you are going to have a question on here and go on the way you have about the cure and type 2....you should have all of your facts together.
