Diabetes question?

When you found out you had diabetes, did they tell you that your white blood cells were attacking your red ones? Is that the case?
My sister just went to the doctor, and they told her that her red cells were being attacked and she needed to have more tests done. They said it was either diabetes or some disease like cancer or something. Is this the case?

I doubt the doctor told her that. It could have been someone else at the doctors office. No doctor tells anyone they might have cancer. If they want her to undergo more tests it could be cancer but that would not be similar to diabetes. She might have diabetes but it wouldn't be her white blood cells attacking her red cells. it would be the white blood cells attacking the beta cells in her pancreas(Type 1) This would not require more test to say yes or no to diabetes.
I think either she got the information from someone else, or she misunderstood the doctor, or you misunderstood her.

this does not sound like diabetes. You should get more info from your sister. If her blood cells were "under attack" I think the doc's would given her a bit more info.

just my opinion.
