eyes affected by diabetes,solution?

what can my father do for his eyes that are affected by diabetes and cant see well as before.I mean is there any cure or not.moreover he's had several times lasic surgery on his eyes, but the last time his eyes were terribly hurt under the doctor's lasic surgery and was almost bloody,some say it was doctor's fault, i dont know maybe they are wrong!additionally,his left eye has sight problems and cant see well.what should he do?
