Should i see an endocrinologist? I have type 2 diabetes and low thyriod.?

I take 500 mg of metformin 2x a day and 50 mcg of snythriod everyday. I see my GP for both but he doesn't see real concerned about my blood sugars. He doesn't even ask me ow they look or anything. I don't feel like he really cares...
