Out of 500 people, how common is type 1 diabetes?

I just got diagnoses about a month and a half ago and I want to know how common type 1 is.

According to the Center for Disease Control in the USA, 1 in every 400-500 childrenor adolescents are diagnosed. How old are you and do you have someone to talk to about your situation and feelings? I have have it for 39 years. I was 4 years old when I was diagnosed. When you go to see your endocinologist, the diabetic doctor, go to the classes that they offer. You will meet other kids like you and have someone to relate to as you grow older. If you want someone to answer more questions, I will be here.
Good luck. Remember it is a condition that you can control, it is not a debilitating disease.

I would say like 5 or so, that is a guess, i have been type one for a long time and everyone i run into is type 2, not degrading their disease but they all seem to think it is just as bad as having type 1, and i would trade in a millisecond, sorry for the vent but it bugs me sometimes.
