2 year old drink lots of juice, not very interested in eating - is this a...

...problem? diabetes? other symptoms? My son is 2 years and 3 months. Sometimes he eats well but sometimes he would rather drink juice instead of eating. He drinks 4-5 sippy cups of juice/milk a day (doesn't finish them all the way). Last check up was 1 month ago and doctor said he was good and above average height and weight. My wife is worried the desire to drink juice instead of eating dinner means he may have a medical condition. Any insights? Thanks!

At least you said sometimes he eats. Otherwise he can get anemia. But, I don't think this is your case since the check up was so perfect. Don't worry to much. But, when he ask for juice instead of dinner, don't give it to him. He'll get hungry during the day and then you can negotiate with him. I know he understands. Mine's 2y & 4m. If he's low appetite, there's vitamins that increases it a bit, not to much since he's Ok in weight. But, vitamins are always good.

I have type 1 diabetes.
When i was diagnosed i was drinking a lot, urinating a lot, being lathargic, losing weight and getting overheated.
If you notice any more of these symptoms you should see a doctor right away maybe the ER.
