There shouldnt be any reason why she couldnt have the baby natuarlly. Some gestional diabetic babies tend to be large so she may start the process of natural birth, but then find that the baby is too big for her pelvic and need a c section.

My first pregnancy, my son was very large. He was 11 pounds at birth and I was very petite. We think that I developed the GD right b4 I gave birth bc he all of a sudden got huge at the last of my pregnancy.

However my 2nd pregnancy I WAS diagnosed with GD and my baby that time was only 6 pounds.

Every pregnancy is different.

Good Luck

Gestational Diabetes?

My friend has gestational diabetes and she was wondering if she can have the baby naturally or will she have to have a c-section?

She should still be able to have the baby naturally, unless other complications arise. I was told that it doesn't make a difference on how you have the kid as long as while you're pregnant you do everything the doctor tells you to do and monitor your glucose levels.
