| Do I have diabetes? I'm not obese, so don't ask me that, I'm an average weight for my age, 13. I show symptoms of diabetes, I am constantly tired, and thirsty, and I seem to always be hungry, no matter what I eat. I usually get headaches every week (not migranes, just head pains), and I get stomach cramps sometimes. Even if I drink alot of water, I will still be thirsty. I tried hinting to my mother, telling her that some friends are being tested for diabetes, and for my health, I think I should be too. She laughed it off, saying that I'm always thirsty because I don't drink alot of water. I do get blurry vision, but I go on computers alot, so mum says that's why. And, for the tired thing, I am always tired. I go to bed sort of late, 11pm on most nights, and get up at 7.30. That's 8 and a half hours, but I'm still tired. I also noticed that itchy skin was a symptom. I usually find my face, back, and legs itchy. Am I paranoid? I'm not self obsessed, just paranoid. I have a family history of diabetes, by the way, every female generation basically gets it, on my fathers side. And, I also get nosebleeds ALOT, at least twice a month. Is that a symptom? And, I haven't JUST thought that I've had diabetes. A childhood friend had diabetes, (the type where she had to inject herself with insulin) and I've been worried since I was about 11. I've stayed away from sugar, but always had something small each day. And I'm not stressed because friends are being tested, that was an excuse so my mother might get worried. She didn't. Oh. And yeah. I don't get blurred vision after candy bars, I stay away from most sugars, but I do have a few lollies for energy. I am sometimes just randomly sitting somewhere, and everything seems blurred. I've had my eyes checked. |
