I am worried that I may have diabetes...?

I have done some research on diabetes and have found that some of the symptoms are dry skin, feeling faint and needing to pee more...which i am experiencing. These symptoms have started to show in the last 7/9 days. I also eat quite alot of chocolate and sweet food. I am 16 and female....

I should probably speak to a doctor but i dont want to look like an idiot if there is nothing wrong...stupid i know...

Any help would be appriciated xxx
im not obese or anything.. im UK size 6 and US size 2..(i think)..the answers so far have been real helpful! xx thanks xx

Go to the doctor and ask him for blood glucose tests that will tell whether you are diabetic or not.

As diabetes is the disease of ignorants.Eat to live and not live to eat. You are just 16 and have long journey to go.Avoid sugar sugary foods. Start eating fresh fruits and vegetables Eat low carbohydrates, low glycemic index, high fiber food, avoid fats and most important start walking at least an hour to live a healthy life just like non diabetics

dry skin could be due to dry air produced by your heater. peeing more.. are you drinking more?
There are other factors to being diabetic. But if you are really concerned call you dr. and tell them you want an A1C test. it only takes a few minutes and will tell the dr. whats been going on with your blood sugar for up to the past 3 months.

Do you find that you are constantly thirsty?

These symptoms could be quite alot of things, or just poor diet etc.

Just go to your GP and ask for your blood glucose to be checked. Takes 2 minutes and is pretty painless. If you are in the UK, I have heard that some chemists are offering this service too!

Do not waste any time, get it checked out. ANy GP worth their salt would be glad you are so aware!!
