and I are considering... I have a son who doesn't have diabetes and a type 1 diabetic daughter. My husband and I are considering having another child, and we are trying to figure out what the chances are of having another diabetic child. My mother was type1 diabetic, however neither I or my 2 brothers have it. My son doesn't have it and my daughter was diagnosed with it when she was 3. She is the only grandchild of my mothers that has it. My youngest brother has 5 boys and my older brother has a boy and a girl. Is it possible that girls carry the gene and thats why my daughter has it and my brothers daughter doesn't. And if we do have a child and its a girl will she have it and if we had a son would he not. I have an appointment with the doctor in a week to discuss these issues, however I was just wondering if anyone had any information.

Sweet girl has a spectacular aura about
Each child is different. My first one was born with cleft palate which I was born with. My second was normal but was born with mild hearing loss which I don't have but his dad does. It might get a chance with it or might now. It really hard to say. Both of my parents are diabete's. My dad a bipolar which I have and I get myself tested once a year to see if I have diabetes since my parents have it. I am 26. I am fine but just bipolar from my dad side.
