...husband and I are considering... I have a son who doesn't have diabetes and a type 1 diabetic daughter. Both of my children are with my husband, however we are considering getting pregnant again. We are trying to figure out what the chances are of having another diabetic child. My mother was type1 diabetic, however neither I or my 2 brothers have it. My son doesn't have it and my daughter was diagnosed with it when she was 3. She is the only grandchild of my mothers that has it. My youngest brother has 5 boys and my older brother has a boy and a girl. Is it possible that girls carry the gene and thats why my daughter has it and my brothers daughter doesn't. And if we do have a child and its a girl will she have it and if we had a son would he not. There is no history of diabetes on my husbands side of the family. I have an appointment with the doctor in a week to discuss these issues, however I was just wondering if anyone had any information.
