Where do i go for a free diabetes test?

I live in england and i seem to be having some symptons of type 1 diabetes and dont want to leave it too late. i am absalutley terrified and scared to tell anyone in case they think im being stupid and feelin sorry for myself.
please help?

I knew i had symptoms for a while and wouldn't tell anyone till it started getting bad. Easiest thing is to go buy a cheap blood glucose meter for like 15 bucks at a pharmacy.
