My doctor said I didn't have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes. What does this mean?

Please help. I'm very confused. I do take in daily doses of insulin but with an inhaler. If I do have neither type 1 or type 2 diabetes, but some other form... Could I get type 1 or 2 in the future?

There is a type 1 1/2. It is not that common. It presents like 2 but is more like 1. What ever the case is you need a new dr.

There are several types of diabetes, not just two, and there are a lot of gray areas that are hard for physicians to define or put a label on. My Peachy is right... get a doctor with better communication skills, or start asking more questions.
