Can stray cats get diabetes?

I found a stray cat and I think it has diabetes. How much of my grandma's insulin shot should I give it. I want it to feel better and I found an extra insulin shot that my grandma has. should I just put the shot in the kitties stoumach like my grandma does or in another artery?
