I'm worried my mom has diabetes while pregnant?

im worried my mom is 33 or 34 weeks pregnant and she knows that she has diabetes but she didnt tell me because she knows that i will worry to much and im really worried right now ...she is very careful of what she eats ... will the baby be alright the doctor said to her that the baby will be bigger the normal when born but will there be any side effect on the baby .
please answer my question i just want to know i will give 10 points for the best answer
