What can I do to make my beloved uncle who has diabetes feeling better?

What can I do to make my beloved uncle who has diabetes feeling better?

A few times in a month I would go back to hometown and stay with his family. But every time I went there, I feel like I have done nothing to ease his condition. It's like I'm sitting there and watch him having his medicine everyday. I'm thinking about spending him an ice-cream or buying a chocolate cake for him, but then his illness won't allowed. I don't what to do to make him feel better. I just want him to remember me that I'm his favourite niece who really cares about his uncle. How?
