I'm 38 and have type 2 diabetes and I want to have a baby.?

I have one doctor saying that it would be fine and another saying it wouldn't be a good idea. My husband and I would like to have a child and I'm totally confused. If i dont have physician's permission, my husband is not willing to risk my health. Does anyone have any information about diabetes and pregnancy or are familiar with a good website that will give me good information?

Thank you,

Lani

I would think it was more important if your diabetes is controlled or not. I to am a diabetic but my is controlled very good. I had my first baby when I was 42. I watched what I ate tested myself very regularly. I did not have any problems at all with it. I have a very healthy 4 year old now.
