| Do people with diabetes type 2 gain or lose weight? My dad whose a doctor says they gain weight over time, but online I read they lose weight so I am confused. The person is a 25 year old woman. I read that 70% of women diagnosed with diabetes type 2 are obese to begin with. So will she lose weight overtime? What other things to expect from 25 years old?      |

| generally people with type 2 diabetes are overweight to begin with. very few type 2 diabetics actually lose weight as a result of their diabetes. type 1 diabetics on the other hand tend to be underweight, slim people. |
