since i am a new member of the diabetes club, it kills me when i go into a...

...store and the twinkies seem to know my name. the cupcakes are yelling at me, the ho's ho's snicker and whisper in my ear. the fried chicken places seem to have all kinds of sales, the burger joints have 1 dollars items!!!!! help!!!!!! do any of you have the same things in your life???!!!! or is it just me????

It's always harder to eat better ... and even harder than normal when you're forced to and you're not ready. Try to treat yourself with non-food things ... that will help a little. And megge's list idea was a good one. Don't worry, it will get easier. A lot of eating junk food is habit ... and when you break those habits you'll start to feel better and then you'll want them a little less. So hang in there!!

Oh, and I starred your Q because I thought it was cute and funny ) thanks for the laugh.

LOL You are SOOOOOOOOoo NOT alone. Luckily the cravings tend to wane a bit after you get used to it. I still give in sometimes, because we need to feel normal too, and sometimes my options are limited.

What you should do is when you go to the store make a list of what you need and buy only that and nothing else. Also dont eat fast food. I have type 1 so i can eat whatever i want so nope i dont have the same thing.

Hello...I have type 2 diabetes now for 12 years. Am 72 yrs. I know exactly how you feel. I love all those things too! I have never given them up, just cut back on how much! I take 30-70 insulin and medication. I now have it under controll and doing well. Take care of your self and may be well be on here again!! Biff Cliff!
