Chances of becoming a diabetic after having gestational diabetes?

I had gestational diabetes with my last 2 pregancies. The first time I had it, I controlled it by diet. With my last pregnancy, I was completely insulin dependent.

I know that when thru the diabetes management classes, they said your chances of becoming a diabetic in life later are increased. Does anyone knows the numbers? what are the chances?

Thanks ahead of time!
I know that having a family history of diabetes is more of a problem, but I am just wanting to know what the chances are of it being a problem later on in life. I know that it increases the chance of having it later on in life, since I have had it in 2 different pregnancies .

Thanks
