My grandfather has diabetes and he has this type of swelling on his hands...

...and they itch what could it be?????? It might not even be caused because of diaetes.

Diabetics are at high risk of loosing limbs, usually feet and lower legs. Be attentive and concerned. Call your doctor.

You would have to be more specific. Diabetes can cause the skin of the hands and feet to crack, and they'll get irritated. Also, poor circulation may be the cause of swelling. This may be, however, something completely unrelated. He should get it checked out if it persists.

This might be neuropathy of the hands. Sometimes diabetics will get numb and sore hands and feet. You should see your doctor.
