OceanO has a spectacular aura about
Can someone explain why I am getting a constant headache & tiredness since

switching to a lower carb diet? I have been on Weightwatchers for a couple of years so know exactly what is good and what is not food wise. Over Easter I fell off the bandwagon & ate way to much chocolate etc etc and with a big event at the end of this month decided over the weekend to get really serious about losing some more weight. Therefore I am sticking to my 20 points on WW but am using those points to eat MUCH less carbs than before. Not none atall as I know thats not good but enough to get rid of the sugar cravings so to be able to do the plan religously and not break by having a sugar binge at any point over the next month. So...Ive been doing this for a couple of days now and thought I would have bounds of energy etc but Im feeling very tired (almost dazed) and have a constant headache. I am determined to stick with this and am hoping it will pass but wanted to know if anyone could explain exactly what is happening right now and what I am to expect if I carry on eating as I am (will the headaches go
& the increased energy levels kick in).
So to give you an idea of what I am eating here is a typical day:
7am - BEROCCA energy tablet (vitamins etc)
9am - Porridge
11am - Handful of grapes
2pm - Tuna Salad with chickpeas/beans or Prawn Salad
4pm - Slice of Ham
7pm - Chicken breast with veg or Cod with Veg small amount of couscous
So yes if anyone can explain this process Id be very grateful!
Just to add my goal of lowering carbs is to try and stop the sweet cravings as I have a VERY sweet tooth and will power alone will not get rid of this and Ive read that by lowering you refined carb intake (white pasta, rice, bread, potatoes) this can help reduce cravings???????????/

If your not intaking the correct amount of carbs on a daily basis you will feel lathargic as carbs give us energy without this you will have to rely on your own bodys reserves which is why people loose weight this way but its is not a good method. We need carbs to maintain healthy energy levels. Due to your over tiredness you will also have headaches. I would switch to another diet as low carbs is not good at all.

i get it too, when i am cutting up, i diet. it's just that your blood sugar level drops because you haven't enough energy. i normally eat a piece of fruit or something else sweet and it goes away. try having a cup of tea, that works aswell.

Please consult a doctor right away. If you can't go to a doctor I suggest you go back to eating more carbs. Don't binge out again. (You know that now anyway.)

Weight loss is a worthy goal but in my opinion weight loss comes as a result of a diet that is sensible for you. Weight loss is a secondary goal - developing the best diet for you should be the first priority.

Hey man quick solutions are not the best way to keep weight off. Your body needs carbs. In fact, your nervous system (brain, spinal cordonly etc.) uses carbs and only carbs to function. You can be harming your body. Carbs are sugars and used for energy very quickly. Eat complex carbs and not simple sugar. Also see a dietician or something like that. Just live a healthy, moderate lifestyle and you should be fine but as for the dizziness check out RMR (resting metabolic rate).

You are experiencing problems digesting your new diet. I suggest you take up yoga/pilates instead of weightwatchers. They are fare more effective than weightwatchers, weightwatchers works purely shortterm.
