Well I'm 15, in h.s., 5'7 1/2, 135 lbs gained alot muscle but some fat that i wanna lose Breakfast: either Cereal- 1 1/2 cups with very little milk and half a banana-around 300 calories or powerbar- 300 calories Snack: medium apple between classes because lunch is at 12 and i get super hungry Lunch: HALF a turkey sandwich with cucumber and mustard the turkey is fat free- 200 calories those rice cakes- 40 calories waterbottle then around 3 I have swimming practice from 3-5.30 but we swim only two hours then I get home and my dinners are always healthy and not take-our or anything. all home cooked. it always has meat, like chicken and pasta. At dinner, I limit my portions because i can only eat around 6. My snacks between dinner and bed are just Diet Coke, and more fruits, usually grapes and bananas, but i limit it. so usually half a banana and about a cup of grapes. I avoid sweets.Anything else I can do to better the diet? I try to stay within 1500 cals. |

You are doing your part, don't worry!! I eat whatever is healthy for me everyday. Perhaps I would advice you to eat on the right time. Avoid eating fat products like meat and pork . Sleep for 7-8 hours a day. Drink a lot of water - 8 cups of water is enough. Do hiking and other healthy activities like marathon. Relax because when you worry too much, you get fat easily. Go to the beach, play with your brothers and friends, or go to the park or anywhere you love to go. Don't forget to exercise your brain too. You need to worry about your mental healthy too. Read good books and novels besides studying for your test. and good luck. |

One thing I would add is don't worry about snacking in between meals as long as it IS a SNACK and is healthy (which you seem to have under control). When you don't eat for long periods of time, including the 3-5 hours between meals you body actually starts to store fat because it doesn't know when it will get food again. Therefore, smaller more frequent meals are better or in your case, snacks in between.
