Can technical ability counter fitness?

What I mean is:
Can a person expert in executing so many techniques instinctively but not in good shape defeat someone in very good shape but that doesn't know many techniques?
Suppose the person in great shape is fast, powerful at his strikings, has stamina, strong abdominals, strong forearms,etc

YES, Technical ability can defeat better fitness. I have trained with some fellows that were way past their prime. Each one of them had been practicing their art for decades. Each one of them is a man to be feared.

If a person is an expert in executing self defense techniques then apparently they cannot be in bad shape or they would not be fit enough to execute the techniques with any type of proficiency. Even if the expert isn't in the greatest shape, they probably would defeat a non-expert. Did you ever hear of the Drunken Master style? If a person is an expert in this style they probably would defeat an non-expert attacker even if the expert was drunk

the longer the fight goes the more it favors the fit person. the average person can only fight for about 1-2 minutes. so if the expert couldnt end it quickly they would lose.

Yeah I, but it just makes it hard not being in shape.I got into wrestling match at work and I had a hard time submiting someone 60 lbs heavier than me and way stronger, it frustrated me though that I was not in shape.jui jitsu
