Question for any fitness trainers/nutritionists etc...what will happen if...

...I cut down my exercise? I have been doing 30 mins intense stationary cycling, over an hour of speed walking and almost an hour of squats, situps, crunches, jogging on the spot, leg lifts etc per day...that is over 2 hours exercise.

I have lost a dress size and I have lost 10 Ibs.

I eat around 1800-2000 calories a day now.

Will I get larger/gain weight/lose weight if I cut down the amount of exercise I do but eat the same? (I have built up some leg muscles)

I am 5'10 and 125 Ibs. I wish to stay at this weight or even get to 124 or so.

I think it would be advisable for you to cut down the exercise too. The average person who does exercise for average fitness only needs about an hour a day. Anything over that and you are actually eating away at muscle. If you cut it down to 1 hour a day, for your weight I would also cut the calories down to 1500-1600 a day to make up for the cut in exercise. that should keep your weight the same.

Only if you cut out exercise entirely. Otherwise, if you are eating heathfully and have a healthy, active lifestyle (meaning, not sedentary), you should at least maintain.

Easy solution to continue with your weight loss goals -- cut down the quantity but increase the quality of your training (by doing different workouts, working harder, and keeping things varied). You get more results by training concisely but intensely than you do by training A LOT but w/o any variety or intensity.

Remember -- being fit means adopting a healthy lifestyle, not about working out hard and dieting for a few months and then stopping. It is great that you have worked so hard to get where you are and that you've accomplished so much. Now, you'll need to figure out how to keep being healthy for the long-term. Figure it all out and make it happen.
