| you are probably lacking vitamin B, iron, potassium, zinc and magnesium. Either try a good supplement or eat foods that are rich in those vitamins and minerals. If you decide to get a supplement, you might have to try several iron supplements because some tend to upset your stomach. Lacking protein can also make you lethargic. If you are vegetarian, add more tofu and beans to your diet. Veggies and fruits are good, but they don't have any complex carbs or protein. Try to use whole grains instead of white bread and rice, and make sure to eat at least a serving of grains every meal (a single serving has about 100-200 kcal, so 3 servings can very easily fit in a weight loss diet). Avoid white and processed stuff- whole grains have much more vitamins, including B, much more fiber, and keep you fuller and energetic much longer. For a quick pick-me-up before exams or for emergencies when you really start zoning out and can't focus at all, don't be scared to use a tiny bit of simple sugar once in a while. A bit of honey, a banana or dried fruit can all be parts of a balanced diet. |

| Well it sounds like your body is not getting enough nutrients. When you are on a diet you have to make sure that you are getting food from all food groups. If you are a vegetarian I would suggest that you aren't getting enough iron. This comes mostly from meats, and it has a lot to do with your energy levels. I would go to your doc to see about getting on a supplement. Woman have lower levels of iron already, so I'm leaning towards this being your problem. |
