I eat under 1000 calories a day, but still don't lose any weight. why not? Sometimes I eat a lot less, sometimes a lot more, depending on the day, but average about 1000 calories a day. I am active, and just started taking diet pills, but the most I ever lose is like 5 lbs. I am currently 5ft4 115 lbs, and want to lose 10 lbs.

u need more calories and eat veggies and fruits, diet pills dont work hun!!! try this! Here are some FYI TIPS, you may find useful! ***WATER: WATER is VERY important! You should drink an extra 8oz, for every 20-25 pounds you want to lose on top of the regular amount of 8 glasses you should drink daily. If you are exercising you'll need to increase this! ***To lose weight more efficiently and effectively, stop eating 2-3 hours before bedtime. This allows your body to become a fat burning machine throughout the night, instead of trying to process what you've just eaten. That feeling in your belly (of hunger), is the body going into to fat burning mode, you want that! That is the key to the ignition so to speak! Also, you should eat breakfast, this also sort of jumpstart your body's' metabolism. You can also try: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com they've got all kinds of great exercises you can choose from and they even do demonstrations of them! ***COOL DOWN: Cooling down, having a cool down session after working out prevents blood pulling to occur, which cause you to be more sore. Walking around or stretching ~10-15 minutes should be sufficient! :-D ***FOR EXERCISES: Try 20-45mins (whatever you can do) daily, or as many as you can, (something is always better, than nothing at all!!) of some cardio of your choice. Maybe running/jogging, dancing, bike, etc. (yes, dancing can be great cardio- just throw on some favorite music and let it rip! Its fun and you control it! :-D Best time to exercises is the morning, first thing! When you do this you jumpstart your metabolism for the day. Just GET/BE/STAY ACTIVE this is really good and important for a healthy body! ***Make sure you have enough and proper protein in your diet! This is important! Chicken, seafood, meats you can get these as lean meats and make these as good choices in your meal plan. ***PLAN AHEAD: My husband and I plan our meal ahead of time. We discuss the day before what are plan for the next day is so we pretty much already know what the deal is and what it's going to be for the next day. We don't have to guess and wonder, we're already prepared. I can't tell you how wonderful this little sucker is, it helps sooo much! Know what's on the menu for you tomorrow! ***Look for inch loss, which is a wonderful thing. Sometimes you lose in inches and not actual weight. Take your measurements and pay attention to how your clothes fit you! That is a really good indicator that something's happening! ***Strength training is also good! But, be careful and don't over do it. Too much can make you gain weight in bulk muscle; muscle weighs more that fat! ***Take a look at http://www.caloriesperhour.com Go to the Activity Calculator, and you can find out according to your specific age, gender, height and weight, how many calories you burn doing all kinds of activities! It's cool & simple, I like the site! :-D ***It takes 3500 calories to gain a pound and a loss of/deficit of 3500 to lose a pound!* ***If you have a bad day or an off day, it's better to eat the bad foods as early in the day as possible, that way you have a lot longer time to burn it of than just a few hours at night before bed!! Also, eat you bigger meals earlier, in this same regard of burning it off!

1.Dietary Control. It's true, you are what you eat. Start eating healthier meals in smaller portions. I started off by eating plain oatmeal for breakfast and replaced my unhealthy snacks with bottled water. 2.Drink More Water! Water is an essential part in keeping your body hydrated and working properly. You never want to be dehydrated and it is recommended that you drink at least 8 cups of water per day. 3.Keep a positive attitude. Dreading a work out will only make weight loss harder. Look forward to your work outs and keep an open mind. 4.Keep the Right Mindset. Keeping the right mindset may be the hardest part of losing weight. Many people give up early or fail on their diets. 5.Take Before and After Photos. Taking before and after photos will help keep you on the right track for losing weight. Post the before picture somewhere you can see it every day to get you motivated. 6.Read the Labels!. Ignoring nutrition labels is a sure way to pack on extra pounds. I typically choose foods that are low in carbohydrates and sodium. 7.Tell Family and Friends. Telling family and friends will further keep you motivated to lose weight. They may even have a few tips or words of advice for you! 8.Bring out the Ipod!. Listening to music can help you take your mind off physical activity while you work out. It also will help pass the time and make your work out seem to go by faster. 9.Slow and Steady wins the Race. Set goals on how much weight you would like to lose in a week. If you do not meet this goal do not be discouraged just continue your work out plan the following week. 10.Ignore Fat loss Pills. Weight loss pills are unnecessary if you are looking to lose weight the healthy way. Fat burners and weight loss pills may also be dangerous to your health! 11.Take a Break. I usually set off one day of the week where I don't exercise and let my body recover from all the work. 12.Sleep More! Sleep is an essential part of losing weight. Muscle repairs when you are sleeping. Sleep also keeps your metabolism balanced.

Your body is going into starvation mode and storing extra calories. The best way to avoid this is to eat a bit more every third day and drink lots of water. You are better off exercising instead of dieting -5'4" and 115lbs is pretty tiny -I don't think you SHOULD be losing weight quite frankly.
