Does drinking cold water burn up calories? What about hot water?

I've always wondered if it makes a difference.

Yes, it does burn calories to both warm or cool food in your body, but it isn't really enough to do much. We learned in a science class once that it was something like 1 calorie for each change in degree for a liter of water. (That might not be totally right...I can't remember exactly.) Anyway, the point is that it isn't a lot. Drinking one regular glass of cold water is going to burn about 5 calories at the most. You probably burn more calories just walking to the sink to get the water. Don't try eating cold or hot food as a substitute for exercise...

Not really. The thing is, this is a myth. Your body burns a very, very, very negligible amount to heat it up. As you drink, your bodies' current heat warms up the water, very little extra, if any in some cases, is spent to heat up the water.
Anyone who says you should drink cold water to burn more as part of a diet is an idiot and you should find someone else.

If it is ice cold, yes it causes your body to have to burn more calories to heat it up. Hot water i don't believe it makes a difference.
