Bull's-eye rash on dog with Lyme vaccination?

My 11-month-old Australian Shepherd was vaccinated against Lyme disease over a month ago (including the booster). Last night I found a tick on him with the characteristic "bull's-eye" circle around it which I know is the first objective sign of the disease. Is it possible to display symptoms even if he is immune to Lyme, or is it an indication that the vaccination isn't working? Of course I plan to call his vet first thing this morning but I am an anxious mommy and was hoping to get some info from you guys. Thanks!

Your right to call the Vet, the vaccine is only about 80% effective, but don't panic, I adopted my Black Lab 2 yrs ago I bring any dog I have to the Vet as soon as I get them and Annie tested positive for lyme, but she has no symptoms & a friend of mine has the same with his dog so we just go on and get them their shots every year, so far neither has had to be treated, Vet said just watch for limping or other signs, but keep getting the shot every yr. because they can get from another bite and the old can still flare up, even with the shot, but i figure 80% is better than 0%
