Gender certainly, men are often diagnosed Male Balding Pattern or MBP, it can start from as early as 16 or as late as 40. It can be measured by the Norwood scale.Outside the MBP which is genetic (testosterone side effect), nutrition, drugs (tobacco and others) can have a weakening effect on hair.On women, menopause often causes hair loss, again hormone triggered. Some diseases also cause weakening of hair.Ethnicity, i'm not sure, but i guess on serious statistics it should be more or less equal proportions.
