| Suddenly I'm tripping and falling more than usual. What could be some logical reasons?
I am a 47 year old woman. Suddenly in the past three weeks, I have had 3 or more episodes where I have stumbled and fallen or almost fallen. It seems that I am misjudging that is under my feet. This is very odd and I'm a little scared about why this is happening. Some background: My last checkup a few months ago was great, no issues. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis but it is under control. Recently I had a sinus infection (took antibiotics for it) but I think that maybe it didn't totally go away. Also, I know that my vision is changing (think I may need bi-focals soon). To me, the most logical answers would be 1) my vision or 2) a lingering sinus/middle ear problem. When I think about these stumbling and tripping episodes, it seems as if I don't properly perceive what is under my feet and I misjudge my steps. It's really weird and truthfully it scares me. Anybody have any ideas what may be going on? I don't want to jump to conclusions like ALS or other serious diseases.

The third option (something other than vision or sinuses) is the most likely option.Your body knows where your feet are, and where to put them through proprioception and kinesthesia. Sounds like there is something that could be interfering with those processes, and no, not all of them are as serious as ALS, MS, or what-have-you.Go see a GP or neurologist and get it checked out before you fall and hurt yourself with a thump on the head - that could be far more serious.

Get yourself to the Doctor. It may be a minor issue from the sinus infection causing your equalibrium to be off kilter and thus feeling unbalanced. But this is definitely an issue that should be taken care of by your physician. Just in case |

Maybe you need to get the eyes checked ; or you may be having some neurological problems . Then again you could just be preoccupied with your thoughts and not paying too much attention to your step . Antibiotics may have caused dizziness . I wouldn't be dreadfully worried unless there are many other serious setbacks to go along with your symptoms .

My first thought was an ear infection. My second was MS, especially when you mentioned the vision. I have a friend with MS and her balance and vision were greatly affected. I'm not sure exactly what tests would need to be done to rule that out, but I'd definitely consult a doctor. I hope it's nothing serious

What kind of shoes are you wearing??doesn't sound like MS or ALS...it does sound like vertigo from vision problems or sinus maybe..more than likely it has to do with your vision problem...go see a doc..Good luck
