Life expectancy of my dad?

65 year old dad. 3 mini strokes. high blood pressure. On 14 medications. Diabetes for 20+ years. Bladder quit working, uses a catheter. Beginning kidney disease/failure. Obese. Sleeps 20+ hours a day most days of the week. BUT then has odd periods of being awake and doing things like cutting the grass or grocery shopping. Could he live 5 years? Is it going to be horrible?

Life expectancy of my dad?

if the diabetes is weight related...usually is........he can save himself a lot of problems and live longer if he just looses weight................High blood pressure is weight related also..It is tough..............only God knows...........heck, he might outlive the rest of the family.............

Life expectancy of my dad?

This is not going to be fun to watch. He has so many problems that I bet it hard to take all the meds. he has to take. I he could just lose some weight. But I know and you know that is out of the question. Most of all of his problems stem from diabetes that was not controlled for many years than not.Enjoy each other as much as you can and who knows he may surprise us all. But if he would even exercise :walking he could really help himself. Good luck. Sorry I could not be more encouraging.
