Cartoons keep being drawn.....?

with only 4 fingers in each hand. Why is it that after all this time in advanced drawing illustrations techniques, cartoons are still portrayed this way?

Out of tradition I suppose, or to give the characters a more 'cartoon' apperence.

I am really not sure maybe because they are supposed to give it character. U should design a 5 fingered character. More power to u for questioning society

Maybe people just like the original form of cartoons and they still keep the same techniques, however, many cartoon makers use other more advanced techniques.I can imagine that most cartoon leader makers use technological advances to do such work
