| Help! Have writer's block! How can I start a paper on Alaska's Cretaceos dinosaurs?
I think I've over thought a 3 page paper... I have 20 sources, pages of notes, notecards, drawn illustrations, and an outline. I just can't start the writing of the paper... Help?

When I get writers block I usually jot down whatever comes to mind. then sit back and read it after a few minutes to see if there is anything to build on in that free writing. there usually is and it turns out pretty easy after.

put your main points..one each.. on a note card.. then put the note cards in an order that makes sense. Organize your notes in the same general order.. THEN start to write simply about what you have on each note card.. 1st one first.. and so on. Use your notes as you write.. point to point.. you will probably NOT use all the notes you have taken.. we rarely do.. but glance through to see what is useful for the point you are making.. Even your illustrations can spur a thought or two.. but if you have an outline already, organize your note cards and notes in the order you have listed on your outline, then flesh out the phrases to sentences to get your first draft. THEN you can go back and refine it. Good luck.
