Dream interpretation? Cloverfield-esque?

Kind of a long time ago, I had viewed Cloverfield when it was in theaters. Since a couple of months have passed, I have been having strange dreams that are similar to the movie, but my most recent dream is the most disturbing yet.

I had a dream that I was having a sleepover, and I asked my dad to drive me to their houses so we could pick them up. All of a sudden I start getting clammy and I keep urging my dad, and then the sun turns a bright red, illuminating all of my windows. Suddenly, a velociraptor-esque creature climbs up my stairs. My parents are sitting in the family room, but there is a marble table in it, and my father puts his hand on my mother's leg, smilies, and then the monster gets close and seemingly bashes their heads in together, but I close the downstairs door before I see any blood. I then run outside, to the driveway, run to the car, and I wake up in a sweat.

My father is currently overseas, and was juts over for a visit, I also can't drive a car.
