car dream... any interpretations?

I had a dream that i was driving with a passanger around the city i turned into a side street and other cars turned in too. I got out and saw that it wasn't a street it was someone's yard and i turned around and i had parked my car on their lawn/garden. so i unlocked the door and put the key in the ignition etc and drove home. and when i got home i realised that i wasn't in my car. So i tried to drive back to where i was but i never got there. I can't really remember why, i'm pretty sure i didn't wake up.

Car normally symbolize decision making or goal driven. In your case, it could mean something or some decision making you have made, you may have thought you fell into a wrong one. Projecting the car wasn't there symbolize some mistake you have made, that is heavily dealt with decision you made. When I dream about cars I always look at several different things.
Were you able to go regular speeds? Were you out of control? how was the light in the dream? Was it clean or dirty?
The interesting thing about your dream was that you went somewhere you didn't mean to go (someones yard) and you drove home and it was not your car, and you tried to go back but you never got there.
I always interpret my dreams of cars about how I am following my life's purpose and about how effective I am being. Sometimes I can't go at all or the car disappears. Sometimes it runs great and everything works perfectly. Sometimes I get off track and don't get where I need to go.
I usually use these dreams to analyze if I am putting my energy in the right places/goals and if I need to switch. I find it is interesting that you didn't get where you wanted to go when you wanted to fix it. that could be a signal you need to change something.
