...lab, for summer 2008? I am in graduate school in Virginia. I need an online physical science class, preferably Introduction to Geology without a lab or something without a lot of math, that I can take this summer. I am having a terrible time finding an online class that fits this description. 10pts to whomever gives me the most viable options with specific links. II've been at this for a while, and I really do need your help.Help this stressed graduate student out, PLEASE!
I already tried my local community college.

Your best bet would be your local community college.

Though you have searched for a while, perhaps you have not seen the SUNY Learning Network... Try:
http://sln.suny.edu/sln/public/slncatalog.nsf/eb4e16dfeb1ef3a0852573ef0051a25f?OpenView
I see some courses in Physics that might suit you.
There is Penn State World Campus as well. The catalog is here:
http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/cgi-bin/WebObjects/OnlineCatalog.woa/21/wo/jKPabcQ3OYJU30pGz8kXtM/3.9.2
I see some not-for-majors courses (perhaps not what you are looking for) in biology, and there seems to be an introductory course in Soil Science. I have not looked extensively at either catalog.
There appears to be an introductory Geological course offered by UNC (The Friday Center for Continuing Education). There are other places to look...
http://www.fridaycenter.unc.edu/cp/cco/courses.html

I have searched for online Mathematics courses before... graduate ones are more difficult to find than undergraduate ones, it seemed to me.

However, I am aware that some universities carry more online courses perhaps than others.
U. Minnesota, U. Washington, U. Texas, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Johns Hopkins, Purdue, maybe U. Wisconsin are ones that I remember offering a fair number of courses online. Often through continuing education divisions. Drexel or Temple seemed to offer a number as well, but I could not understand how to take them as a non-degree student. I imagine that hundreds of institutions offer courses, and suggest searching by specific university names, and trying `online,` `distance,` `continuing education,` `non-degree,` ... as key words.
I think that the previous poster made a noteworthy point -- that Community Colleges are a good source.
I do suggest looking at the specific links that I indicated. Post additional info if you still have not found any solutions.
