Earth science hw questions?

I sort of left my notes in my locker by accident and Im having huge problems with these questions:
1. Explain why the rate of abrasion of rocks in a stream will decrease as time increases
2. What are the idea conditions necessary to produce the fastest rate of chemical weathering

I know I should do these myself. But Im having a tough time doing this. Please help me or any earth science links that would help?
