Earth Science Help!?

Hey, I got this 50 question review sheet to do to study for a test but I don't know one question, thanks for any help. Please give reason so I understand.

23. Which change would cause the topsoil in New York State to increase in thickness?
1. an increase in slope
2. a decrease in rainfall
3. an increase in biologic activity
4. a decrease in air temperature

I would say an increase in biologic activity because an increase in slope will decrease the thickness,rainfall will not affect anything,neither will temperature.

I can't tell you for sure, but I think if it were me, I would go for 2. "A decrease in rainfall". Rainfall increases erosion of topsoil through rainsplash erosion and runoff, so a decrease in rainfall would allow soil to stay where it's put, if you see what I mean.
