One of the problems with the law is the "confusion" factor. It is one of the most misunderstood laws in existence. I'm an employer and I see this all the time. Another down side is the economic incentive you provide when you tell people they don't need to develop skills to have a livable wage, the government has "got your back". I deal with a state minimum which is above the Federal and some of my people are barely productive to the tune of $7.50 per hour. Some employers will sub part time for full time employees in an attempt to keep the cost of workers down. We don't have to pay the benefits for part timers, we don't have to pay for sick days and personal time either. All of this in the end hurts the average low skilled worker. I could go on for days as to why minimum wage is a "bad" deal.

It is important to include empirical studies of the consequences , both intended and unintended, of the minimum wage because the complexity of the real economy can not be captured by partial equilibrium theory presented in introductory economic classes. A summery of the studies can be found at http://www.house.gov/jec/cost-gov/regs/minimum/50years.htm#krueger

Get rich quick schemes in the capitalist business world, (buyouts, IPOs, conglomerates, acquisitions, mergers, and the stock market), do not actually work. Remaining solvent does not actually exist within false economics capitalism. Profit existing in the capitalist business world, or millionaires existing within capitalism, is pathological deception committed by the 21 organizations spying on the population with plain clothes agents, (with covert fake names and fake backgrounds). Actual economics is the persons that are paying the business loans of companies voting at work in order to control the property they are paying for. Capitalism is the psychology of imaginary parents, false economics, and the criminal deception of employees that are paying the bills (including the stocks and bonds, or shares) of companies. Anti-Democracy republicanism is the psychology of imaginary parents, and false government.

I can tell you that minimum wage might not be that bad. However, in many cases minimum wage is not needed. A self regulating labor market might be the best solution. Minimum wage hasn't been adjusted much lately and ironically many companies like McDonald's pay more than minimum wage anyhow. If minimum wage is increased to much it might cause inflation and in that case it would defeat the purpose of higher wages because the cost of living would increase.
